What is Left Field Project?
I originally started working on Left Field Project because I was wanted to understand what makes someone happy. I wanted to know what makes someone successful. More importantly, is there a direct correlation between happiness and success? Sounds like a cliche, but I figured if I interviewed enough of the worlds outsiders, I might just be able to create a formula for success.
I started this project when I was just out of college. I was very frustrated, I felt like the American school system didn’t prepare me or my peers for life. I had a lot of questions and so I just started asking them. Fast forward nine years and here we are, we are preparing to publish our findings. There are over 400 interviews. At least thirty hours of film. Over 500 pages of text. Fortunately, we are not quite done. We have eight more interviews to complete.
So, what is Left Field Project?
