About

With a series of interviews Left Field Project captures what drives the world’s most progressive designers, artists and creators. Never before have so many outwardly driven and diversely talented individuals been slammed into one project. Left Field Project began as an inside look into the mechanics of inspiration, searching for what drives an individual to create. The end result was something far more fascinating.

Left Field Project is a handful of books.
Duane Fernandez originally started working on Left Field Project because he wanted to understand what makes someone happy. He wanted to know what makes someone successful. More importantly, is there a direct correlation between happiness and success? Sounds like a cliche, but Fernandez figured if he interviewed enough of the worlds outsiders, he might just be able to find the formula for success and happiness.

Duane Fernandez started this project when he was just out of college. He was frustrated, he felt as if school didn’t prepare him or his peers for life. Fernandez had a lot of questions and so he started asking them. Fast forward nine years and here we are, we are preparing to publish his findings. There are over 400 interviews. At least thirty hours of film. Over 1,200 pages of text. Fortunately, we are not quite done. We have eight more interviews to complete.
